Saturday, November 16th from 10.30 – Members £2, nonMembers £5                John Harrison: Buildings, line and wash demonstration and workshop at the Catholic HighSchool, Handbridge, Chester CH4 7HS

‘Staithes, down the Hill’ from one of John’s sketchbooks.

Yorkshire born and bred: John is a trained graphic designer with a strong illustrative style borne from voracious childhood reading.
He now draws inspiration (pun intended!) from many sources – Yorkshire’s glorious Dales and Coast, the stunning Lake District, city, village and townscapes – always looking for dynamic viewpoints with interesting perspective and strong light and shadows.
John’s favoured subject matter features built structures in the wider landscape, exploring the contrast between the man-made and the natural.
He is an active Urban Sketcher, and runs many workshops and classes.

John will provide all necessary reference material for the exercise; you will just need the tools of your painting: watercolour paints, good quality(300g+) watercolour paper
round brushes, sizes 8/10/12 and a soft pencil.
Plus a waterproof inkpen. John will have some of these for sale on the day.
