Douglas Hutton
Born and brought up in Scotland, and now living in Cheshire, I spent 25 years working as a chemical engineer with art as a hobby. Three years ago I changed career to concentrate on art, which finds most of its expression in paintings of wild Scottish landscapes with their rapidly changing colours and moods.
Wandering the countryside searching for landscapes to paint, inevitably I have come across various beasts. Some have been curious about me and others have just been plain curious. I have therefore put together a collection of these weird and wonderful beasts to complement my landscape paintings.
I have had work selected for exhibition at the Stockport Open Exhibition and the Royal Cambrian Academy. In 2019, I had two designs selected for Stockport’s Giant Leap which I then painted onto two large fibreglass frogs for display in Stockport town centre.
